CLARION DROPS A PAIR OF GAMES AT CALIFORNIA

Bill Hasson had a sacrifice fly in game one.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CALIFORNIA, Pa – The Clarion University baseball team dropped a pair of games Saturday afternoon at California. 
 
In game one, California scored at least a run in each inning before winning the game 9-2.
 
In game two, the game stayed close before California pulled ahead late to win the game 4-1.
 
In game one, each team exchanged runs in the first inning.  Bill Hasson had a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first to tie the game at one.
 
California (20-7 overall, 7-1 PSAC West) jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning before Jon Roncolato drove in Mike Lockhart to cut California's lead to 4-2.
 
California scored the final five runs of the game to clinch the win.
 
In game two, California led 2-0 until the top of the 7th inning where it added two more runs to give them a 4-0 lead.
 
Brett Sutika had an RBI single in the 7th driving in Joey Lopez to give the Golden Eagles their only run of the ballgame.
 
Sutika finished with two hits in the night cap, while Lopez, Nick Maskrey, Derek Danver, and Joey Gierlak all added a hit each.
 
Clarion (1-21 overall, 1-11 PSAC West) returns to action Tuesday where it will travel to Pittsburgh to face Point Park for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 pm.
