Box Score MANSFIELD, Pa. – Mansfield scored two second-half goals and then withstood a late Clarion charge to defeat the Golden Eagles 2-1 in PSAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Mansfield.
Mansfield (3-4-1 overall, 3-4-1 PSAC) got an unassisted goal from Danielle Lentz late in the 47
th minute from 8-yards out.
The Mountaineers then made it 2-0 in the 67
th minute when Karyn Anselmo scored on a penalty kick.
Clarion made it a game less than two minutes later when
Casey Harsch scored her second of the season unassisted from 35 yards out on a free kick that found the top right of the goal.
Laura Saussol once again gave the Golden Eagles (3-3-2) a chance to win making 13 saves including eight in the second half alone.
Clarion had four shots on net with
Stephanie Sikora,
Jordan Bahr and
Tirzah Blackstone each adding one in addition to Harsch's goal.
The Golden Eagles return to action Wednesday at East Stroudsburg.
