EAGLES LOSE 2-0 AT FRANCIS MARION - WHITE PITCHES GEM

Box Score CLARION BASEBALL DROPS TOUGH 2-0 GAME AT FRANCIS MARION

(Florence, S.C.): Clarion freshman pitcher Sean White (Slippery Rock) pitched a gem in his first collegiate start, tossing a complete game and yielding only two runs, but Francis Marion held the Golden Eagles to four hits and Clarion lost the game 2-0 at FMU's Sparow Stadium.

Clarion drops to 2-5 on the season while Francis Marion is 12-12.
White (photo left), in his first collegiate start and first action as a Golden Eagle pitcher, tossed 8 innings yielding 2 runs, 1 earned, walked 3 and struck out 5 tonight.

Francis Marion scored an unearned run in the second and one ion the third and those runs held up in the nine inning contest.

Clarion's Mike Lockhart had two hits, while Nick Maskrey and john Finke had the other hits for the Golden Eagles. Clarion's best scoring chance came in the fifth inning when Mike Lockhart singled with one out and John Finke had an infield single to put runners at first and second. Joey Lopez struck out and Joe Holmberg grounded out to end the threat.

Clarion plays Francis Marion again on Wednesday before coming home to open PSAC-West play on Friday at Mercyhurst.
