CLARION TENNIS DOWNS MARAUDERS 5-4

(Hilton Head, S.C.): Clarion's Lauren Zezenski and Madeline Robinson were double winners leading the Golden Eagles to a 5-4 win over Millersville in Women's Tennis action in Hilton Head, S.C. on Wednesday night.

Clarion raised its record to 3-6 overall and 1-2 on its Spring Trip, while Millersville drops to 2-6 overall. Clarion will close the Spring Trip playing Sprigfild at 1pm on Thursday.

The match opened with Clarion winning two of three doubles matches for the first two points of the dual. Lauren Zezenski and Madeline Robinson defeated Elizabeth Wagner and Tori Davis 9-7 at #1 doubles. At #2 Megan Bettwy and Jessica Kennelly defeated Alexandra Heller and Stefanie Fisher 9-8; and Jessica Dgien and Allison Probst lost to Nicole Daacke and Kaylora Thompson 8-0 at #3.

In singles Clarion won the dual as Clarion's top 3 players won their matches and keyed the win.

Zezenski defeated Wagner 0-6, 6-4, 10-2 at #1; Bettwy defeated Davis 6-0, 6-4 at #2; and Madeline Robinson defeated Alexandra Heller 6-3, 6-1 to clinch the win.

At #4 Kennelly lost 6-0, 6-2 to Fisher, Dgien lost 6-2, 6-0 to Daacke at #5 and Allison
Probst lost to 6-2, 6-0 .
