EAGLES DROP 5-4 DECISION TO TITANS (Warren, Oh.): Clarion's
Megan Bettwy and Maria Snyder were double winners on Saturday, March 21
st, but the Golden Eagles were edged by Westminster 5-4 in women's tennis action.
Played at the Avalon Golf & Tennis Center, the Golden Eagles dropped to 8-3 on the season, while Westminster upped its record to 6-3.
In singles play Kauren Zezenski lost 6-4, 6-1 to Sydney Sternera t#1;
Megan Bettwy won an exciting 7-6 (12-10) 6-3 match over Mariah Turiano at #2;
Madeline Robinson lost 6-1, 6-4 to Gabby Eaborn at #3;
Maria Snyder defeated Lauren Fling 6-1, 6-4 at #4; C. Vucenovic defeated
Jessica Kennelly 6-0, 6-4 at #5 and
Allison Probst lost 6-0, 6-1 to Stephanie Homitz at #6.
In doubles play Bettwy and Snyder dropped Turiano and Eaborn 8-6 at #1, and Zezenski and Robinson defeated Fling and Sterner 8-6 at #2. Clarion lost #3 doubles when Kennelly and
Kaitlyn Mulligan lost 8-4 to Vucenovic and Homitz.
Clarion will host IUP on Tuesday, March 24.
