CLARION DROPS 9-0 MATCH AT MERCYHURST (Erie, Pa.): The Clarion Women's Tennis team traveled to Erie on Friday and lost to Mercyhurst by a 9-0 score at the Pennbriar Athletic Club.
Clarion's record dropped to 8-6 overall and 0-3 in the PSAC-West, while Mercyhurst is now 10-2 overall and 3-1 in the Western Division.
In singles
play Lauren Zezenski lost 6-0, 6-0 to Saoia Gomez deSegura at #1;
Megan Bettwy lost 6-0, 6-0 to Adrianna Jeffress at #2;
Madeline Robinson lost 6-0, 6-0 to Sarah Baich at #3;
Maria Snyder played very well and lost a close 7-5, 6-4 decision to Adina Spahalic at #4;
Jessica Kennely lost 6-1, 6-0 to Katelyn Caniford at #5
and Jessica Dgien lost 6-3, 6-0 to Jessie Gorcica at #6.
In doubles play Zezenski and Snyder lost 8-2 to Baich and Jeffress at #1; Robinson and Bettwy lost 8-1 to Baich and deSegura at #2 and Probst and Mulligan lost 8-0 to Caniford and Spahalic at #3.
Clarion will host California at 10am on Monday.
