CLARION LOSES HARD FOUGHT 8-1 MATCH TO EDINBORO
(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's
Lauren Zezenski and
Maria Snyder won their match at #2 doubles, and three singles matches went to a third set, but the Clarion Women's Tennis team lost a hard-fought 8-1 decision to Edinboro on Wednesday, Senior Day, at the Campbell Courts.
Clarion finished their season with an overall record of 8-9 and an 0-6 mark in the PSAC-West. Edinboro upped its record to 7-10 overall and 1-4 in the West.
The season and careers came to a close for three Golden Eagles as the team honored
Lauren Zezenski, Megan Bettwy and Madeline Robinson on Senior Day in pre-match ceremonies.
In singles
action Zezenski lost 6-0, 6-0 to Julia Hellstern at #1;
Megan Bettwy lost 6-0, 6-1 to Oranza Carrillo at #2;
Madeline Robinson lost 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 to Marija Tmusic at #3;
Maria Snyder lost 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 to RyAnne Baldwin at #4;
Jessica Kennelly lost 6-0, 4-6, 10-5 to Katie Allan at #5 and
Allison Probst lost 6-0, 6-0 to Lydia Brown at #6.
In doubles Robinson and Bettwy lost 8-3 to Carrillo and Alan at #1; Zezenski and Snyder won 8-3 over Baldwin and Tmusic at #2 and Kennelly and Mulligan lost 8-2 to Hellstern and Browne at #3.
