ERIE, Pa. – The Clarion women's tennis team dropped a decision on the road on Saturday, falling by a 9-0 score to Mercyhurst at the Westwood Racquet Club. The Golden Eagles (5-10, 0-5 PSAC) will conclude their season on Tuesday on the road against Geneva.
Â
The Golden Eagles found it to be tough sledding against the Lakers, dropping three doubles matches and six singles matches to the Lakers. Playing without No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles player
Alivia Arnold, the Golden Eagle lineup fell by 8-0 scores in each doubles match and in straight sets in each singles match.Â
Cindy Severi's No. 6 singles match against Alexia Nay went unfinished, though, as the match had been clinched.
NOTE: Due to an ITA protest by IUP regarding the construction of the Mercyhurst lineup, this result was later changed to 7-2 in favor of Mercyhurst, with the Lakers dropping the Nos. 5 and 6 singles matches as forfeit.
