Box Score AMHERST, N.Y. - After 110 minutes of play, the Clarion women's soccer team had to settle for a 0-0, double overtime tie against Daemen College Sunday afternoon.
With the result, the Golden Eagles move to 2-11-1 this season with a 1-11 record in PSAC play. Meanwhile, the Wildcats stand at 6-6-1 overall behind a 4-3 mark in ECC action.
Daemen started the game hot peppering the net 12 times in the first half. Senior Goalkeeper
Krista Mosi got the start for the blue and gold and was not fazed by the workload. She finished the match with 15 saves, 9 coming in the first half.

The Golden Eagles applied early pressure on the net after halftime, tallying three shots in the opening eight minutes of the second half. Clarion threatened to break the game open in the 83
rd minute when freshman
Madison Spitko sent a rocket into the box that was blocked by the defense of the Wildcats.
Alice Fernald had her best opportunity of the day in the 84
th minute when she sent a shot into the box that was saved by Daemen keeper Maddie Flores. In the closing minute of regulation, the Wildcats made a last ditch effort to score but the shot from Celia De Pablo Esteban was high over the crossbar. Â

In the initial overtime, Clarion threatened with a corner kick from
Charlotte Allen in the opening minute but could not connect with the pass. Spitko later placed a shot on net in the 94
th minute that was saved by the Wildcat goalkeeper. The Wildcats made a push in the closing minutes of the first overtime before a shot from Daemen forward Sam Hanes was sailed over the crossbar. Â

Hanes placed a shot on target in the closing minutes of the second overtime but she was stonewalled by Mosi.
The Wildcats held a 26-10 shot advantage behind a combined 23 shots in regulation.
Clarion returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 17, when they return to Memorial Stadium to face PSAC opponent California (PA) at 7 p.m.
