Box Score CLARION, Pa – The Clarion women's soccer played their last 2018 home game Wednesday night, falling to Seton Hill by a final score of 2-1.
On a cold and windy evening at Memorial Stadium, Clarion honored their four seniors prior to the game. These four seniors helped Clarion soccer set numerous program records over their time played in a blue and gold uniform, including a historical 2017 season where the Golden Eagles set a new mark for PSAC wins, along with matching the program record for wins in a season.
With just one game remaining, Senior Goalkeeper
Krista Mosi will end her Clarion career ranked second in career wins and third in career shutouts and saves. She finished tonight's contest with 4 saves in between the pipes in 90 minutes played.
This loss pushes the Golden Eagles record to 3-13-1 on the season and 2-13 in the PSAC.
Seton Hill started the match hot combining for five shots in the first ten minutes of play. The Griffins broke the tie in the 34
th minute when Italia Biondi sent a long through ball into the box and found the foot of Emily LoPresti who snuck it past the keeper Mosi for her first goal of the season.
Biondi added a goal of her own at the 65
th minute of the match beating the keeper Mosi far post.
Freshman
Alexis Moyer scored her first goal of the season in the 75
th minute when she dribbled through the defense and took a shot from 40 yards out to beat the Griffins keeper Jessica Neill far post.
The Golden Eagles finished the night with five total shots.
Mackenzie Sheldon and
Dani McNally each finished with one shot on goal.
Coach Esterhuizen and his team will travel to East Stroudsburg on Saturday, October 27, where the Golden Eagles will close out the 2018 season against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m.
