Â

th Clarion diver to win a national championship under coach
Dave Hrovat, who was effusive in his praise of Sather after the fact.
Â
"I could tell when I saw Christina walk in for the finals that she had that fire and confidence in her," Hrovat said. "She had such a great preliminary performance and it carried over into the evening. In the 1m Dive, though, you don't have much room for mistakes, and she was simply awesome tonight."
Â
Sather finished the preliminaries in the afternoon with the top score of 443.85. That carried over into the finals, when she paced the field with a 482.90. It is the sixth time Sather has placed in an NCAA Championship.Â
Emma Kehn was an All-America Honorable Mention, taking ninth with a score of 413.70.
