PITTSBURGH, Pa. – On Saturday afternoon, the Clarion University men's swimming team competed at the Western PA invite hosted by the University of Pittsburgh.

Connor Cary got off to a hot start taking home a sixth place finish in the 1000 Free, touching the wall in a final time of 10:32.65. He then followed that up with an ninth place finish in the 50 Free with a final mark of 22.11.
Josh Thruston had a solid day finishing ninth in the 100 Breaststroke with a solid time of 1:00.06. Later in the afternoon Thruston would place 14
th in the 100 Fly hustling to finish with a time of 52.76.

Jimmy Connor and
Paul Flowers proved strong in the 100 Free taking home ninth and tenth place respectively with times of 50.00 and 51.10.

In the 200 Breaststroke
Hayden Shertzer took home a top ten finish touching the wall in a final time of 2:22.63.
In the team competition, the "A: team of Clarion took 10
th in the 400 yard freestyle relay with the team of Cary, Thruston, Flowers and
Jacob Yant finishing with a final mark of 3:14.93.

In the 200 Medley Relay, the "A" team of
Corey Mock, Thruston, Cary and Yant finished in the top 10 finishing the race in a final time of 1:37.30.
Clarion's divers will be back in the pool on February 7
th when they host the Clarion Diving Invite in Tippin Natatorium. The full team will be back in action at the PSAC Swimming Championships on February 19
th in York, Pa.
