BELLE VERNON, Pa. – The Golden Eagle men's golf team kicked off their 2021-22 season on Sunday. Clarion sat in 10
th place in the 16-team field after 36 holes to start the Vulcan Invitational hosted by Cal U. The final 18 holes at Cedarbrook Golf Club are scheduled for Monday.

The Golden Eagles improved one spot in the team standings after the first round's action. Clarion men's golfers shot a 294 in the opening round of action, paced by
Nick Giambrone's team-best 69 on the first 18. That marked the best collegiate round of Giambrone's career, including the first time he shot under 70 as a Golden Eagle. Giambrone shot a 71 in the second round – also one of his best collegiate rounds – to tie for 17
th in the field of 119 with a two-round score of 140.

Ryan Robinson was the second-highest placer on the team on Sunday, shooting a two-round score of 148. He started the day with a 78 in his first 18 holes, but sliced eight strokes off in his second to card the best round of his teammates.
Will Meyer tied him with a 72-76-148, and
Willie Hoover was just one stroke behind those two with a 75-74-149 day at Cedarbrook.
