HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Golden Eagle tennis team took a pair of team points, but were unable to defeat Chowan in falling by a 5-2 score to the Hawks at Hilton Head Island. Clarion will close their spring break trip tomorrow with two matches, against Salem and Albany State.Â
Clarion took the Nos. 5 and 6 singles matches by default against the Hawks, with Alyson Fisher recording the win in the No. 5 match. Chowan got the better of the Golden Eagles in the other matches on the court. Alexis Strouse played the closest match for Clarion, keeping it close before falling 6-2, 6-2 to Micayah Porter in No. 1 singles. Â
Chowan took the doubles point, with Strouse and Savannah Buttery offering a good showing in the No. 1 match before falling. The Golden Eagles' top doubles pairing played well but ultimately fell by a 6-2 score. Â
