Recap:
The Golden Eagles scored seven runs on 14 hits and one Dubois error, using four extra base hits including a homerun from Scott McManamon to build their lead. Five different Golden Eagles knocked in RBI's with Dan Fox driving in multiple runs for Clarion.

Clarion scored one run in the top of the first inning to take an early 1-0 thanks to McManamon who sent a solo shot over the fence as Clarion jumped on the Lions starting pitcher early. Penn State answered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the first inning, but that's all the closer they would get as the Clarion bats exploded for five runs in top of the third inning, stretching their lead to 6-1.

Nate Petke started the top of the third inning off with a single and advanced to second putting a runner in scoring position for the blue and gold. After a Kasey Shughart single and a Matt Privette walk, the bases were loaded for Fox who proved clutch, singling and driving in both Petke and Privette. Mason Kepler reached on the loan Dubois error in the game, allowing McManamon to score making the score 5-1, but Clarion wasn't done on offense yet. Sam Economy singled to left field scoring Kepler to add one more run as Clarion extended their lead to 6-1 in the early part of the ballgame.

Penn State Dubois scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, using the long ball to plate all three runs to threaten the Clarion lead but the Golden Eagles wouldn't budge and proved to be to strong in the field for the Lions. With the score 6-4 heading into the top of the eighth inning Clarion still needed to add an insurance run to keep their lead secure.

Tyler Meachum was hit by a pitch to lead the inning off and after a Petke double, advanced to third as Clarion had two ducks on the pond with no outs. Privette doubled into the gap to score Meachum as Clarion scored the insurance run they were looking for making the score 7-4 as they ultimately took the game. The Lions picked up one hit in their final two at bats as the Golden Eagles pitching staff slammed the door on Penn State Dubois.

Michael Proios got the nod for the Blue and Gold on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings allowing four runs on seven hits, while striking out seven Lion batters. As a staff Clarion picked up 14 total strikeouts as Isaac Kleinfelter added three strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work and Anthony Tucci added four k's in 2.0 innings of work.
