BLOOMSBURG, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle baseball team played their final tune-up before the start of conference action on Tuesday afternoon, falling by a 15-7 score to Bloomsburg on the road. The Huskies' offense kept the pressure on Clarion throughout the entire game, though the Golden Eagles pulled closer late with a four-run effort in the top of the ninth inning.
Bloomsburg swung the bats exceedingly well, scoring at least one run in every half-inning at the plate. The Huskies recorded three total home runs and six total extra-base hits as part of their 15-hit effort. The Golden Eagles offense did well themselves, finishing with seven runs on nine hits.
Scott McManamon led the way for the Golden Eagles at the dish, going 3-of-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored. The shortstop hit his fifth home run of the season in the top of the first inning, blasting an 0-1 pitch over the fence in left field to score
Kasey Shughart and give Clarion a 2-0 lead. Shughart led off the inning by reaching on a throwing error and promptly stole both second and third. McManamon saw to it that Shughart need not work much harder to cross the plate, lifting the pitch by Will Dean over the wall.
Brady Gibble hit the first home run of the day for the Huskies in the bottom of the first, a solo shot off starter
Logan Schlegel that made it 2-1. A two-run error by the Golden Eagles in the second inning put the Huskies ahead for the first time, and the duo of Dansby Keeenan and Anthony Viggiano tacked on with three-run and two-run home runs respectively, putting Bloomsburg ahead 8-2.
Lenny Piccini cut into the Huskies' 11-2 lead in the top of the sixth inning, pulling a 3-1 pitch into left field for an RBI single that scored McManamon. Clarion got no closer until the ninth inning, though, as they put up four runs on pitcher Jacob Kuperavage in a late rally. McManamon got things going with an RBI single to left field to bring home
Sam Economy, and a throwing error allowed McManamon and Shughart to score to make it 15-6.

Schlegel threw 3.2 innings, allowing seven earned runs in the loss. The bullpen went the rest of the way, with six pitchers combining to finish the game. The Golden Eagles finished with five total stolen bases; Shughart and McManamon each recorded a pair, by
