HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- The Golden Eagle tennis team kicked off their week down south with a match against West Liberty, with the Hilltoppers defeating Clarion by a 7-0 score. 

West Liberty took all three matches in the doubles session, though the Golden Eagles gave them a solid fight in the No. 1 doubles match. Davan Lion and Alexis Strouse took three games off the duo of Emma Arnal and Gemma Cliffe but fell by a 6-3 score. The Hilltoppers won each of the other doubles matches by 6-0 scores. 

In the singles session, West Liberty swept all six matches to close out their 7-0 win. Strouse fell to Arnal at No. 2 singles, losing by a 6-1, 6-1 score, while Davan Lion and Charlie Allison lost and Nos. 1 and 6 by 6-0, 6-1 scores. 

Action will resume tomorrow morning when the Golden Eagles face Chowan.
