CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle tennis team kicked off the day with a win in the doubles session, but Clarion ultimately fell by a 7-0 score to Allegheny at Campbell Courts on Wednesday afternoon. The team will play its final dual match of the fall season on Friday when they host Bloomsburg.

The No. 1 doubles pairing of
Alexis Strouse and
Davan Lion improved to 3-1 on the season with their third straight victory, with the duo beating the Gators' top pairing of Jean-Arlette Legrand and Sabrina Rodriguez. It was a smooth finish for the Golden Eagles, who won by a 6-2 score. Emilia Grydnieva and Rei Etsumi won the No. 2 doubles match, though, taking it by a 6-0 score to secure the doubles point.

Strouse pushed Grydnieva in the No. 2 singles match, winning the second set 6-3 after falling in the first. It was a tight race in the third set tiebreaker but Grydnieva was ultimately victorious, taking the game 11-9. Lion, meanwhile, lost a close match to Legrand, falling 6-3, 6-2. The Gators ultimately swept all five singles matches contested for the 7-0 win.
