Tennis Closes Autumn Dual Season, Falls to Bloomsburg

CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle tennis team wrapped up their fall dual match season on Friday afternoon, falling by a 7-0 score to Bloomsburg at Campbell Courts. For the second straight match Clarion took one of the doubles matches contested, but the Golden Eagles were swept throughout the singles session.

The No. 2 doubles pairing of Alyson Fisher and Josie Beckerleg were victorious, improving to 3-1 overall with their third straight win as a duo. They teamed up to beat Maddie Delisio and Riley Noss in a closely-contested bout, winning 6-4 to provide a spark to the Golden Eagles. Bloomsburg managed to win at No. 1 singles, though, taking the match 6-0 to secure the doubles point.

Clarion's best attempt at a win in the singles session came courtesy of Alexis Strouse, who dropped a close decision to Lia-Sophie Seele at No. 2 singles. Strouse kept things close with Seele in both games, but the latter ultimately took that match by a 6-4, 6-4 score. Davan Lion was competitive in the No. 1 singles match, playing Lexi Quackenbush to a 6-2, 6-3 decision. The Huskies controlled action through the other three matches, taking the 7-0 shutout win.

The Golden Eagles' fall schedule will conclude in October when they compete at the PSAC Singles/Doubles Championships.
