Allison won the first set handily, dispatching Hillman by a 6-0 score, but Hillman responded with a 6-4 second set win to force the tiebreak. The pair was neck-and-neck in the third set, but Hillman held on for a 10-7 win to take the match victory.

Stephanie Juarez Murguia played a close match of her own, falling in two tight sets to Olivia Sharp. Sharp won the first set of the No. 5 singles match by a 6-4, score, and then was forced to take a tiebreaker in the second set to win by a 7-6 score. Polia Vladeva and Taelyn Thomas also dropped close straight-sets matches, falling 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-3 in the Nos. 4 and 6 singles matches, respectively.
