Tennis Loses Final Road Match of Year at Cal

CALIFORNIA, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles tennis team played their final road match of the 2024-25 season, falling by a 7-0 score to California (PA) at the Roadman Park Tennis Complex on Saturday. 

The Vulcans won the doubles session, taking two of three matches for the point. The Golden Eagles took the No. 3 doubles match, with Emily McMahan and Taelyn Thomas beating Gianna Bloom and Peyton Reese by a 6-2 score. However, California won the Nos. 1 and 2 matches, clinching the point. 

In the singles session, Teddi Isherwood got things started for the Vulcans, beating Davan Lion 6-1,6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Lilli Schreiber won the No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-0 over Polia Vladeva to make it a 3-0 match. Garance Laforet clinched the win for the Vulcans, winning in straight sets over Josie Beckerleg at No. 3 singles. 

McMahan and Thomas had the most competitive singles matches of the day, with both taking a pair of games in the second sets of their respective matches. McMahan took a pair from Anika Hedrich while Thomas took too from Izabelle Heacox.
