1987 Clarion University grad ... Business - Marketing major ... Jim Beichner was an outstanding wrestler for the Golden Eagles from 1983-86 under Bob Bubb ... Jim wrestled most of his career at 190-pounds ... He won four PSAC titles and was voted the PSAC “OW” in 1986 ... two EWL crowns came in 1984 and 85 ... His first All-America placing came in 1984 when he posted a 5th place ending at 190 ... In 1985 he placed 6th at the NCAA’s at 190 ... He dropped to 177 for the 1986 NCAA’s, but a knee injury kept him from placing ... He had an overall career record of 125-22 and an unbelievable dual record of 49-4, including three undefeated dual seasons ... He was twice selected to wrestle in the prestigious East - West All-Star Classic ... Jim captained the undefeated 1985-86 team that went 17-0-1, defeated Oklahoma State 20-19, and ended the season ranked third in the nation ... Clarion won two PSAC team titles (1983, 86) during his tenure ... He has already been inducted into the EWL “Hall of Fame” ... A native of Jamestown, N.Y., Jim is currently in his fifth year as the head wrestling coach at the University of Buffalo ... Jim was named AWN “Rookie Coach of the Year” in 1996 ... Jim and wife Diane have two sons, Jacob and Samuel and a daughter Grace.
